Our guest speaker this week is Dina Bernardes Foster with the Putnam Farmers Market!
Born in Portugal, she came to the US at the age of13. Has been a West Virginia resident since 1973 and a resident of Putnam County for the past 23 years. Graduated from the old Wheeling High School and attended Wheeling College for 2 years, then obtained her bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from West Virginia Tech in 1981.
Worked as a staff engineer handling water and sewer utilities cases at the Public Service Commission of WV for 10 years, and has been the General Manager of Pea Ridge Public Service District in Barboursville for the past 20 years. Dina is also a Jewelry artist whose work can be found at several shops throughout the state, at the Putnam Farmers Market, and was recently juried into Tamarack.
She is a member of the Rotary Club of Barboursville where she stays very involved in their many activities, and was a Board Member for the past 2 years. She is also on the Board of the WV Rural Water Association, West Virginia Farmers Market Association, and President of the Putnam Farmers Market Board.
Dina is a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, has a daughter, a son, and a one-year old grandson, whom she loves to spoil, and is thankful they all still live in the area. She loves spending time with her family and is passionate about Putnam County and giving its residents a convenient source of locally grown and sourced products.
