July 3, 2018
District governor James Ferguson today installed new Rotary officers for Putnam Rotary for the coming year.
Incoming club president Cindy Farley announced plans for Rotary activities in the months ahead. Among these is a promotion for the annual golf tournament in September which returns this year to the Sleepy Hollow Country Club. Sleepy had been the traditional site for the tournament before 2008.
Farley is a vice president for Genesis HealthCare, serving as a resource advisor and facilitator for West Virginia, Kentucky and Tennessee.
Cyndee Adkins (past president) was recognized for service and leadership.
Members of the board of directors for 2018-19 include Kelli Steele Dailey(treasurer), George Six (director), Dave Alan Gilpin (director) and Dr. Ellis Conley (director).
Also recognized as club leaders were several Rotarian’s absent due to the holiday period: Jarrod Dean (president-elect), Brandon Porter (president nominee), Chuck Nuckles, Jr. (secretary), Wanda Robertson (director) .and Steve Patrick (director).
The new president suggested alterations in club events. “This is your club,” Farley said. “We need to do things beyond a weekly luncheon meeting where we have a guest speaker. Perhaps we could devote one meeting each month to a community service project.”
Luncheon sites have changed on occasion, but service projects often were performed in addition to the traditional weekly meetings.
