Putnam Rotary welcomes visitors

June 6, 2017

Rotarian Kelli Dailey introduced visitors during the Putnam club's weekly luncheon meeting today. Among the guests were Bill Goode, a Rotarian and member of the Charleston club.

"I may be better known," he said, "as the husband of Louise Goode and the son-in-law of Ava Florence Crum," long term math teachers at Hurricane and Winfield High Schools.

Also introduced were Harold and Theresa Cooper, Hurricane residents who have launched a regional mailer now in its third monthly issue entitled Teays Valley Living.

Harold Cooper, a resident of the Hurricane area for thirty years, is now retired from WCHS / Fox 11, including work as general manager. He wanted to become more involved in the life of the community, he said.

Spouse Theresa Cooper has been over 20 years with Suddenlink Communications and radio. "Media has been our life," she said.

The Coopers started Teays Valley Living magazine as a specialized publication "for the residents and by the residents."

The initial target footprint for the new publication is the area between Mount Vernon and Hurricane Creek Roads.

The magazine welcomes contributions of local interest on topics such as families, athletes, recipes, achievers and community activities.

Businesses, civic groups and residents are encouraged to add their addresses to the publication mailing list at tvl@n2pub.com, or by phone at (304) 415-1386 or (304) 539-9136.
