Rotarians named 'Paul Harris Fellows'

Putnam Rotarians today recognized Dr. Ellis Conley and Kelly Davis as "Paul Harris Fellows," who now join the ranks of forty persons named by the local club since its charter in 1995.

  • Dr. Ellis Evins Conley has served as senior pastor at Forrest Burdette United Methodist Church in Hurricane since 2014.

    A native of Point Pleasant, he says he was a classmate with "Mothman." A graduate of West Virginia Wesleyan, Conley holds graduate degrees from Candler School of Theology and Drew Theological Seminary.

    Conley has been active in Kiwanis and in Rotary Clubs in Buckhannon, Fairmont and Elkins.He has been active in the Putnam club since October 2014.

    He has been awarded the United Methodist Silver Torch for service to youth.

    His spouse Julia is National Board certified in art. She teaches at Sissonville High School.

  • Kelly Davis is one of the first corporate members of Putnam Rotary.

    A graduate of Marshall University, Davis is employed by First State Bank, Teays Valley Branch.

    She and spouse Ray are at home in Hurricane with their two children.

    The Paul Harris award is named for the Chicago attorney who founded Rotary in 1905, the PHF recognition honors individuals who meet high professional and personal standards.Membership as a Fellow is not limited to Rotarians.

    Paul Harris Society funding is used to provide vaccinations, promote literacy, improve sanitation and offer vocational training.
