George Six honored by Rotary

Rotarian George D. Six was honored today as a "Paul Harris Fellow" for his philanthropy to the Rotary International Foundation, a special recognition for a gift of $1,000 to the Annual Programs Fund.

This is the third time that Six has been so honored.

Retired as a manager for Appalachian Power, George has not slackened his interests in community service and leadership.

He has served as President of Pt. Pleasant Rotary and St. Albans Rotary clubs. He received the "Spirit of the District" award in 2013 for service to Rotary clubs in southern West Virginia, RI District 7550, for his work in leadership training and web site administration.

In the Putnam club, Six has informed and entertained with lectures in cultural attitudes and history illustrated with New England gravestones. He has been a leader in organization of charitable activities of the club. He chairs the club's scholarship committee, and most recently has volunteered to serve as club secretary.
