Laberta Salamacha was recognized today as a "Paul Harris Fellow" bringing to thirteen the number in the local club so designated for the highest honor in Rotary International.

Randy Lucas, who is completing a year as an Assistant District Governor, also received PHF recognition for the third time.

Lucas, president of Padgett Business Services, is the first muliple recipient in the ten-year history of the Putnam club.

Laberta Stewart Salamacha is a clinical psychologist who has been "coaching for success" for over twelve years.

Besides working in a clinical private practice, she has done business and professional seminars for large corporations and government agencies. She has held several concurrent positions during her career. She has been director of a forensic unit at a regional jail, alcohol/drug counselor, executive director for a non-profit agency, owns her own health and wellness business, and is a part-time college instructor.

Salamacha has received the Marshall University College of Liberal Arts Distinguished Alumnus Award and an award for outstanding dedication and commitment to the West Virginia Psychological Association.

Anyone who contributes or in whose name is contributed a gift of $1,000 or more to the Annual Programs Fund of Rotary International may become a Paul Harris Fellow.

Each new PHF receives a commemorative certificate, a pin, and a medallion. Donors are eligible for Paul Harris Fellow recognition when their cumulative giving reaches $1,000.

Salamacha joins an elite cadre of Fellows, which includes Karen Broach, Don Broyles, Herman Dixon, Peter Faulkner, Bob Keely, Mary Keely, Randy Lucas (three times a PHF), Chet Marshall, Linda Nesbitt, Lana Newhouse-Taylor, Tom Midkiff and Rick Slater.

Putnam Rotary has eighteen members who are participating in the Every Rotarian Every Year support of the Rotary Foundation leading to the coveted Paul Harris recognition named for the founder of Rotary.
