May 31, 2005 The Putnam Rotary Club has recognized three of its members as "Paul Harris Fellows," the top recognition for service and philanthropy by Rotary International. Receiving the honor today were Randy Lucas, Rick Slater, and Don Broyles. Anyone who contributes – or in whose name is contributed – a gift of $1,000 or more to the Annual Programs Fund of Rotary International may become a Paul Harris Fellow. Each new Paul Harris Fellow receives a commemorative certificate, a Paul Harris Fellow pin, and a medallion. Donors are eligible for Paul Harris Fellow recognition when their cumulative giving reaches $1,000. In the Putnam club, today marks the second round of recognition for Randy Lucas, president of Padgett Business Services, designating him as a "multiple Paul Harris Fellow." Lucas is the first muliple recipient in the ten-year history of the club.
Broyles and Slater join Lucas in an elite fellowship of "Paul Harris Fellows," which includes Karen Broach, Herman Dixon, Bob Keely, Mary Keely, Lana Newhouse-Taylor, and Tom Midkiff. Putnam Rotary has twenty members who are participating in the Every Rotarian Every Year support of the Rotary Foundation leading to the coveted Paul Harris recognition named for the founder of Rotary.
