named 'Paul Harris Fellows'

Randy Lucas and Tom Midkiff have been named 'Paul Harris Fellows,' the top recognition for service and philanthropy by Rotary International.

Anyone who contributes or in whose name is contributed a gift of $1,000 or more to the RI Annual Programs Fund may become a Paul Harris Fellow.

Each new Paul Harris Fellow receives a commemorative certificate, a Paul Harris Fellow pin, and a medallion. Donors are eligible for Paul Harris Fellow recognition when their cumulative giving reaches $1,000.

With the recognition of Lucas and Midkiff, the Putnam Rotary Club now claims a total of five 'Paul Harris Fellows this year.

Both Lucas and Midkiff have been active in many Rotarian efforts, including support and encouragement for the Interact Club recently chartered at Hurricane High School.

Midkiff is President of Junior Achievement of West Virginia. He resides in Cedar View Farms in Fraziers Bottom with his wife Jennifer and children Leah and Erin.

Charles "Randy" Lucas is an Enrolled Agent and President of Padgett Business Services with offices in Scott Depot, Huntington and Charleston, WV.

Padgett has been providing bookkeeping, accounting, tax and financial services to small businesses in West Virginia since 1986.

Lucas has been recognized as one of the top ten Padgett Business Services Inc franchises for the past ten years and in 2001-2002 was awarded the national Office of the Year.

Randy is a native West Virginian with a BS in Business Administration from West Virginia State College.

In addition to his designation as an Enrolled Agent, he holds a Series 6 and Series 63 securities license and is a licensed life and health insurance agent.

Randy is currently a member of the Board of Directors of the West Virginia Public Accountants Association, is a past President of the West Virginia Society of Enrolled Agents, a member of the IRS District Practitioner Liaison Committee, a member of the National Society of Accountants, a past officer of the Putnam County Rotary Club and has been active with the Putnam County, Huntington, and Charleston Chambers of Commerce.

He has taught several classes in basic income tax preparation and has spoken to numerous groups throughout West Virginia about various tax issues.
